A Love For Embroidery

Hey guys, so since it's lurking on summer I have been loving wearing brighter colours lately... okay well maybe not a lot brighter but I've been trying to incorporate colour that seems fairer to say. I'm not a floral person at all I am probably the least girly person in terms of style but I have been enjoying a feminine touch here and there and I feel this isn't a girl floral and I love it. I am just loving embodied pieces recently, I bought an absolutely gorgeous bomber jacket the other day with the most amazing embroidery on it, I will probably have a blog post of that up soon too, but this kimono is no exception it's absolutely gorgeous and guess what... I thrifted it for £1!!!!!!!!

Revolution Contour Palette Review

Hey everyone, the day came where I ran out of my beloved seventeen conquer and contour kit *boohoo* however I like change so I thought instead of buying the same thing why not just try something new? I have fallen in love with revolution products, I haven't tried many but the ones I own I am very impressed with considering they're super cheap!
I was browsing super drug when I passed the revolution section and I noticed they had a contour palette which I haven't noticed before and it included a contour/bronze shade, a highlight and a blush which already has more than my seventeen palette did. So..."that's going straight in my basket" sorry I had to.
I've been trying it out now for a couple of weeks and I absolutely love it, especially the highlight shade, I had been using a liquid highlight and although gorgeous just wasn't working, I would use it on top of my face makeup and where it was a liquid highlight it would rub off the make up underneath leaving marks where the foundation had rubbed off and this really wasn't the look I was going for so I always wanted to get my hands on some powder highlights and now I own two I love them, this one in particular.
I also love the contour colour too and a double it up as my bronzer, this is the perfect shade. Although I loved my seventeen one sometimes the colour looked too orange if I didn't blend it in but this one is more warm which is why I think it works well, once blended my face looks all chiseled and contoured up which is what I'm going for.
As for the blush I am still undecided, I think I'd prefer it if it were more of a matte blush because it's very very shimmery and gold which I don't really think suits me especially because we've already got the highlight in this palette I don't think the blush needs to be that shimmery, but I'm still going to work with it and see if I can fall in love with it like I have done with the rest of the palette.
Overall I am very very impressed with this palette and can't wait to try out more revolution palettes because this one has exceeded my expectations!
What revolution products do you love? let me know!
see you soon,
Izzy

Motivational Monday | Positivity

Happy Monday guys, and yes Mondays should be happy even though it's the beginning of a week, think of it as a fresh start every week. I wanted to talk about something which is a subject of great importance to me and something I struggle with a lot but try and enforce into my life everyday and within every situation and that's positivity, now someone who struggles with anxiety and stress and in the past depression it is something that may be harder for me than some others however it is doable and since trying to enforce more positivity into my life my happiness has increased so much!
I have already written a blog post about this way back where I spoke about how I became happy, I suffered with depression around 2 and a half years ago now and I can finally say I am happy however I still have anxiety and stress problems quite a lot however they are manageable. Some things I do to stay happy are:

1) say 'fuck it' sorry for the language but it's true, in other nicer terms 'say yes' to more, when I was going through my rough patch I would never go out, say no to friends asking me to do cool things with them and in the long run I was missing out on memories and experiences that were being created by them. Saying fuck it has made me into a happier more out going person, what's the worse that could happen?

2) being optimistic is a very very important part in my life, pessimistic people just shower you with negativity - don't let them bastards bring you down! Even in a really bad situation try and thing of all the positive things that could possibly come out of it, say a break up for example (luckily I am in a very strong relationship and haven't had to experience this) but if it's ended it's ended for reasons, you can then go on to do better things and be independent and strong it wouldn't have ended if you were meant to be, and also I don't believe in the saying that if a relationship has ended you should never get back with that person because it wasn't meant to be, my boyfriend and I broke up for 6 months the first time we broke up after previously being together for 2 years and then we found each other again and have nearly been together now for 3 and a half years, if it's meant to be it'll be. "a pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty"
3) Focus on YOU, you are the most important person in your life, and that sounds selfish but I don't mean in a selfish way, it's your life and you need to look after that life. At the end of the day you're the one that's going to make mistakes and you're the one that's going to bring you down so you need to be strong and positive to be able to bring yourself up again. Push yourself because no one else is going to do it for you.

4) Be grateful, this is something that has really effected my happiness, be grateful you're alive and breathing that should be the most important factor to being happy, be grateful you have a house to live in, family and friends who care for you, nice food to eat because there are people who are still happy and shining even when they have far less, they are the special people in this world who are still able to be positive through really tough times.

5) Lastly for this motivational Monday post focus on everything that is good in your life rather than focusing on the things you've lost or the mistakes you have made, a big thing which I struggled with was dwelling on the past - the past has happened you cant change that but focus on changing your future into a better positive one and forget all the things you can't changed which have happened which for me have made me into a stronger person.

Thank you guys for taking the time to read this motivational Monday, see you next Monday for another motivational Monday!

Smoky Eye and Double Winged Eye-liner | Belle May

So recently I have been really getting into eye-shadow, I don't think I necessarily suit it but I'm experimenting with looks and colours so that I can find ones that I do suit and I really like this smoky eyed look which I have created with my sleek 'au natural' palette. I have also added my usual winged eye liner however with a little twist, I have doubled the wing up and I think this looks really cool and quirky. I don't think I would wear this on an everyday basis however I think it would look so lovely on a night out or a a formal occasion.

The shades which I used from the sleek palette were: 'noir' which I used at the corner and in my crease to create the darker shade, I used 'moss' all over my lid which is a very light shimmery brown shade (I would post a picture of the palette but the palette is a mess) I used 'Honeycomb' as a base colour because it cancels out all the redness and veins that I have on my eyelids and then lastly I used 'nougat' in my tear-duct and corners of my eye to brighten my eyes a little, I also popped a little bit of 'nougat' in the centre of my eyelids too to add some depth and definition.

I hope you all love this look I may post a tutorial of it on my channel soon, thank you!

Lip Liners | Rimmel

So, basically I have a thing for lip liners at the moment especially nudes and pinks and when I was in boots the other day I picked up these two and I think they may be my new favourite things I wear them on my own and under some of my favourite lipsticks. What I love about them is that they don't really feel that drying on the lips, obviously they're going to be slightly drying because they're a lip liner but they don't feel as drying as some of the other lip liners I have and also the colours are so nice and the staying power is so good.
Tiramisu is the slightly more beige one which is my favourite out of the two and spice is the one whcih is slightly more pink toned, I love them both so much however I think Tiramisu suits my complextion a lot more.

What are your favourite lip liners?
